Four Tips for Planning Commercial Office Remodel

commercial office remodel

Pulling off a successful commercial office remodeling job requires more than just an idea and a bank account full of cash.  To get what you want in the timeframe in which you want it done, there are several things to keep in mind.  To help your project meet your goals, we’ve put together a list of four tips for planning commercial office remodel and renovations.

Goals

To ensure you get what you want, it’s important to explicitly articulate your vision by compiling a list of goals.  Are you looking to improve productivity?  Make more space for your employees or customers?  Update the look of your business?  Upgrade its functioning for the future?  Whatever you’re planning your commercial office remodel for, having a specific list of goals that can be easily communicated will make it much more probable that the end result is to your liking.

Plan

Once you’ve identified your goals, you need to come up with a plan on how to fulfill those goals.  Who will you need to hire?  What are the limitations and advantages of the space you’re working with?  How long will the project take?  These are just a few of the questions that will need answering before you begin.

Communication Strategy

Once a commercial office remodel begins, there will be several involved parties that need to be supervised and communicated with.  Because of this, an effective communication strategy should be put into place before the remodeling work begins.  Who needs to be given what information and how often? Will you need all-hands-on-deck, in-person meetings or will email or texts suffice?  Should the principal players be getting together weekly or will calling meetings as-needed be adequate.  Whatever the answers, have them in place before things start getting messy.

Budget

A budget is important to keep a lid on the finances.  Planning a commercial office remodel job without a budget only invites cost overruns and the potential for the project to run out of money before being completed.  Putting together a budget will also let you know if your plans are realistic or if you need to reconsider your vision.

MMD Construction built us retail space on the second story of our current store space. Dino and his team built walls, cut out spaces for internal windows, ran wiring, installed lights, and put down floors. The job was done timely with minimal disruption to business and we now have a functioning business up on the second level. Thank you!

MMD is one of the best companies I have had the pleasure to work with. Highly professional from start to finish, available any time to meet or speak with you. MMD has a great team that meets deadlines and delivers. One of the things that I liked about working with them was that they were very experienced and anticipated any possible complications. They were fully transparent from the beginning of the process, so there were no surprises later.
