What is the Best Flooring for Commercial Use

Best Flooring for Commercial Use

When it comes to commercial flooring, you have to think about it a bit differently than you would about flooring at home. Traffic will be much greater and unfortunately, the people treading the floors will probably not give it as much care as they would in a private residence. For these reasons, installing something constructed specifically for commercial purposes is necessary. So, what is the best flooring for commercial use? In this post, we’ll give you a few ideas.

Polished Concrete

Polished concrete is one of the mainstays of commercial buildings such as shopping malls, grocery stores, large office buildings and other non-residential spaces. It’s durable, good-looking, highly affordable and relatively easy to clean. Believe it or not, polished concrete can also cut down on lighting costs due to its high reflectivity.

Stained Concrete

Stained concrete is popular because it can be easily made to replicate the looks of other, far more expensive flooring materials, such as marble or stone. Some stained concrete can even be made to look like wood. The fact that its concrete also makes it much more durable than many of these more expensive materials.

Vinyl

While you may think of vinyl as rather delicate, improvements in technology have made this material highly popular in commercial settings. There are several different types that can be used, such as vinyl composition tile (VCT,) luxury vinyl tile (LVT,) and vinyl sheet flooring. The advantages of vinyl are its ease of installation, waterproof qualities and its ability to absorb sound. You can also choose from a wide variety of looks with vinyl as it can easily mimic other, more expensive, flooring materials.

Laminate

Commercial laminate floorings are often chosen for their great looks at a relatively low cost. Laminates are generally durable, easy to maintain and can match the look of other, more expensive, commercial flooring types. Laminates can also be stain and scratch-resistant which can make them an attractive option in certain commercial settings.

Rubber

Rubber is often thought of as a specialized commercial flooring material that’s suited to places like kitchens and hospitals. It may not be the most beautiful flooring material, but it provides a waterproof, slip-resistant and highly-cushioned surface that makes it ideal for these kinds of settings.

MMD Construction built us retail space on the second story of our current store space. Dino and his team built walls, cut out spaces for internal windows, ran wiring, installed lights, and put down floors. The job was done timely with minimal disruption to business and we now have a functioning business up on the second level. Thank you!

MMD is one of the best companies I have had the pleasure to work with. Highly professional from start to finish, available any time to meet or speak with you. MMD has a great team that meets deadlines and delivers. One of the things that I liked about working with them was that they were very experienced and anticipated any possible complications. They were fully transparent from the beginning of the process, so there were no surprises later.
